Managing Director
Tim Hosie
Tim is the founder of Planned Exit Partners. He built the firm around a simple observation: most brokers, investment bankers, and M&A advisors are incentivized to close a transaction, not to help an owner build a business that’s actually ready to sell. Real value comes from doing the work to make a company transferable well before it goes to market.
Tim has spent more than eight years advising business owners, guiding them through the preparation and sale of their companies, across industries such as construction, marketing, and industrial services. His background includes roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Garmin, and Mariner Capital Advisors. He’s based in Leawood, Kansas, and holds a degree from Rockhurst University.

Managing Director
Stephen Hilborn
Stephen’s role is simple: serving middle-market business owners as they navigate the most important business transaction of their lifetime. He’s passionate about helping owners prepare for their exit and evaluate the full scope of their options as a true trusted advisor.
Stephen has spent six years in M&A advisory, building on nine total years in financial services, combining experience in public accounting (CPA-inactive), corporate finance, and ESOP advisory to guide owners and their teams through the M&A process with technical precision. Stephen brings specialized industry knowledge in aviation, manufacturing, and construction & engineering. His background includes roles at Ernst & Young (EY), NetJets, and Lazear Capital Partners. He’s based in Olathe, Kansas, and holds dual degrees in accounting and finance from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.
